Four Sundays: April 26, May 31st, June 28, & July 26, 2020 10:00am-3:00pm
Tuition: $250
This once-a-month class, by the very skilled painter, Catherine Nunn, will cover the four foundations of representational painting: drawing, value, color and edges. Beginners encouraged! Students will paint an object brought from home against a simple colored background, with individual instruction throughout the day. Using Richard Schmid’s classic book “Alla Prima” as a guide, the goal of this class is to learn fundamental principles that you practice at home between classes. We encourage students to bring in their work from home for critique at lunchtime. Easels are provided but students supply their own paints, brushes, and canvas/panel.
The studio is a fume free environment and we ask folks to use alternative solvents rather than mineral spirits. Find Gamsol or Citric Solvents for painters through Jerry’s Artarama or Gamblin. Please contact catnunn@comcast.net for a list of suggested materials or questions.
